Orders update
We have now cast, packed and sent out all order up to and including 14466. We've not done as well as in past weeks, mainly due to this batch including some very big orders, all of which have taken a while to process.
Needless to say, we'll be back in on Monday chipping away at the pile with a view to getting a lot more packages on their way.
We are getting a lot of people asking us when the cart will be reopening. I can't give an exact date but we are looking now at early August. We will be giving advance notice when we are nearer the date, so please keep an eye on this News page and on our Facebook page and Twitter account.

100 orders
When I said we would be working through the evening as well... I wasn't joking.
We have cast, packed and just posted 100 orders and have just completed order 14434.
We will be doing the same hours next week to try and get as many done as possible.

***UPDATE 05/06/20 - All orders up to and including #14270 have now been sent out. ***
That nasty Covid thingybob has managed to insert its effects into every part of our lives, including, much to the horror of many, the innocent pastime of playing with toy soldiers. For the Baccus team it has had pretty dramatic consequences. Having spent a good deal of time and money last year reshaping the workshop for maximum efficiency and use of space, it is now well-nigh impossible to have it fully staffed and maintain sensible safety precautions for all concerned. As a result, where we should have three casting machines spinning merrily producing 6mm figures for the masses, we now have just one. Where we should be sending out sacks of mail every week, we are now making the trip to the post office every fortnight. Where we should have had a lot of shiny new releases, our mould maker has been sidelined and is spending a lot of time at home.

It gives us no pleasure at all, but after long consideration, we have decided to cancel this year's Joy of Six event. Given the current situation with regards to lockdown it seems unlikely that gatherings the size of JOS will be allowed to go ahead. Even if they were to be allowed, it is a sobering fact that a large percentage of our attendees would fit into the higher risk category and that is not a responsible course of action.

With apologies to all of you wishing to place an order with us, I am sorry to say that we've had to shut the cart again. The reason is illustrated below.

In just four days, we have received enough orders to keep our much-reduced casting capacity going for at least the next four weeks. I couldn't carry on taking further orders with the chances of us getting the completed being pushed steadily into the future.
Many thanks to all of you who have placed orders. We'll crack on with this lot as fast was we can, and can only ask for your patience as we get to work over the coming days and weeks.

Okay chaps, this is the moment that some if not all of you have been waiting for. The Baccus website has reopened and we are now taking orders. There is still a backlog for us to clear so don't expect your orders by return of post - there will still be a delay, especially as postal services around the world are working at less than peak efficiency,
The last time we did this it took about a week for you lot to break the internet and close us down again, so we are now under starter's orders...and...they're off!

As most of you reading this will be aware the cart is currently closed and we are running a reduced casting operation. I think that its only fair to let Baccus customers know exactly what is happening.
Firstly, and most importantly, we are still working, albeit on a much slimmed down establishment. Social distancing and keeping all staff safe means that we can only have one caster working at any one time. This means that while casting is constant it cannot match our normal output. Orders are being collated and sent out in batches. These are going out fortnightly, rather than weekly.
