This week is all about the upcoming Joy of Six show, but we can’t get on with this until revealing this weeks’s magic order number which currently stands at #34531.    Now let’s get on with the real business of the day.

With just under a month to the Joy of Six 2026, here at Baccus HQ, we are nailing down the final details for the day.  Lindy has just about finished ed the monumental task of fitting all the various games, demonstrations, Q&A sessions, trades stands and demonstrations into the available space.   Having completed a task that Heracles might have looked at and said, ‘I’ll pass on this one chief, if it’s all the same to you’, she has now completed the staff job rota, which is a similarly impossible task given the number of jobs that need doing and the tiny number of people available to do them!

As well as the usual mix of games and trade stands that you will find at most wargames shows, JOS adds three ‘extras’.

  • The Baccus Sunday Morning Grill, where you get the chance to ask any number of difficult and potentially embarrassing questions of the Dork Lard of Baccus himself.
  • The Panel Q&A session, where a selection of what passes for the Great and the Good of our wonderful hobby will be there to face all and questions from the panel.  (For UK readers, think ‘Question Time’ but without Nigel Farage - tricky I know, but use your imagination.)
  • New for 2026 – ‘Base it like Baccus’.   A couple of hands-on sessions looking at how you can use a range of techniques and materials to bring your wargaming bases to life.

Given that every day takes us ever nearer to the BIG day, can I please ask you to get those collect orders into us as soon as you can.   We have to work the casting Goblin team hard enough as it is, but if the bulk of your requirements fall on their shoulders with just three days to go, they get rather annoyed and even more ill-tempered and obnoxious than usual.  Did you know ill-tempered Goblins exude a foul stench as a defence mechanism?  We have learned this the hard way...
