It's THAT time of year again!

22nd Dec 2023

Walking round the abandoned Baccus workshop, I could see that the Elf workers had downed their tools.   The workbenches were cleared, the tools sloppily stacked and the great machines inert and abandoned.   The normal brutish sounds of Elves swapping childish innuendos and laughing at fart jokes that would have left a six-year old rolling their eyes were all absent.  All that was left to show that they had been working here was a sole grimy green pointy cap hung at a jaunty angle on an abandoned casting ladle.

In short, the little sods had scarpered a day earlier than they should have done!

No doubt they would all have removed themselves to the nearest Elf hostelry downing endless quantities of dubiously sourced alcoholic liquid and having, ‘who has the pointiest ears’ competitions.  This would just be the curtain raiser to a week of puckish debauchery of the very grossest kind, as has been the tradition for more years than I care to remember.

Yes, it’s that time of year when Baccus closes down for a few days as the casting team indulge their basest instincts for a few days.   To be fair to them, over the last four weeks they’ve managed to cast orders at two and half times our normal rate of turnaround, and they really do need a break.

We’ll be reopening our doors on January 2nd 2024 and I will get the wee chaps straight to work at that point.   However, I will be working on the Baccus end of term report which will be posted next week, so be sure to check in to see what we have planned for the coming twelve months.

On behalf of the Baccus Team can I wish all the very best to you all for the Festive Season!
