Armies for Ravenfeast and a look at our next new release.

1st Sep 2023

The new school term beckons, days by the beach are a fading memory and thoughts at Baccus now turn to the months ahead as we enter the Autumn UK wargames show season, and the prospects of a good-sized batch of new releases and ranges.   But first, in a return of the tradition, here is this week’s magic order number which stands at #25327.   As it’s been a while since I posted one of these updates, I will repeat that you must not panic if your order precedes this, and you haven’t had an notification from us.  There are always a few orders that miss the cut for various reasons, and they will be processed in the next few days.

And with the housekeeping done, let’s have a look at a set of new-ish releases for this weeks and a peek ahead to what’s coming soon.

I doubt that there is a wargamer on the planet who has not heard of Little Wars TV, and their wonderful videos.   A few months ago, they did a brilliant little mini-campaign based on the momentous year of 1066.   Using a variation of their Ravenfeast rules, they refought the three battles of the campaign.  Since then, I’ve been asked constantly to produce some army packs based upon this series.  After innumerable responses on the lines of, ‘There won’t be a demand for them’, I’ve finally relented and put some together.   There are packs for the Normans, Saxons and Vikings plus one pack for those who feel like getting the whole business at once.

If you really have not seen any of these videos, I cannot recommend them highly enough.  Start with this one and be prepared to entertained!

Full details of the Ravenfeast armies can be found here,

September marks the beginning of a very busy period for us starting next weekend with the Colours Wargames show in Newbury.  We’ll mark the event with the release of a brand new set of figures for all the Ancients players out there.   This time we are going all the way back to the dawn of Civilisation to the armies of Sumer and Akkad.

There will be very early  marks of the Chariot,

infantry armed with long pointy sticks,

and even longer pointy sticks.

We are still finishing all the moulds, but all the codes and a shiny new army pack at Colours.   Speaking of which, it’s time to get those per-orders in – always a good idea if you wish to avoid disappointment.
