![]() Standard User Posts: 231 Looking for tiny Nile Paddle Steamermonk2002uk 1st Aug 2024 05:37:16 Early original photographs suggest that planking was visible on the various cabins. Later these were covered with sheet metal. Another example shows a metal guard rail around the edge of the hull, plus protective armour plating around the steam boiler. I will add these as options. The heights between decks can be increased further. This will allow the guns to be pimped up, more in keeping with Baccus figure sizes for example. Onwards and upwards... Robert |

Still, your project caught my eye since it was the only Nile gunboat model I could find at the time. The Melik model is beautiful, but being a larger class than the Tamai at about 14cm long, it doesn't leave much room on my 8-foot table, especially if I want a good balance of land forces. The smaller Tamai at 9cm is ideal for my needs; in fact, I scratch-built some Sultans and Tamais to that same footprint to balance historical accuracy with the desire for a few gunboats at either end when I refought Omdurman. I agree with Phil—it's great of you to make these available, and I'd be more than happy to contribute, as there is certainly a shortage of models from this period.
