Your offers of contributions are very kind but not needed from my perspective. Thank you though. Work on the model is progressing well. If either of you are attending Joy of Six then I could bring one or more 'kits'. I am also working on a version that uses the laser cutter to make the hull and the upper deck (the latter in ultrathin plywood). Robert |

I recommend exploring model kits from companies like Revell or Airfix that can be customized, checking specialized scale modeling websites for niche ship models, or considering custom model makers who can create bespoke replicas. Historical documentation and 3D printing services may also offer viable options depending on the scale and specific requirements of your project.

There will be 3 major components: the hull and lower superstructure up to but not including the middle deck; the middle deck and upper superstructure; and the top deck and awning. There will be a second build option, with SVG files for laser cutting the hull and the middle deck. I will upload the SVG files as well. These will enable the wooden decking to be etched and slots for the various supertructure elements to be engraved into the wood. This weekend is experimentation time... Left to do: the stern wheel with water churning; the gun carriage for the forward gun; and some remodelling of the forward gun screen. Robert |

Mostly because of space to scale issues. Most games are going to be above 1:1 so a base will represent a company or battalion. If you have a true scale paddle steamer it will take up many times it's actual foot print. Also 1:350 is a scale for detailed ship models and Cruel Seas is notinoally 1:300 so they are recognised model ship scales.
