Administrator Posts: 897 peter 11th Jan 2021 11:59:50 I’m sorry, but this is a more sober announcement than usual. The fallout from the Covid outbreak in the UK is very serious indeed. At Baccus we have striven to keep staff and their families as safe as we can, and this has been at the expense of our ability to produce. The latest infection and hospitalization numbers are worrying to say the least. As a result, We will be further reducing staff numbers and hours until the current trends reverse. This means that, although we will still be turning orders around, it will be at a slower rate than we had anticipated which in turn pushes back the time for reopening our shopping cart, which will now be some time in February. When we do reopen we will be putting a cap on the size of orders so that we can attempt to supply as many customers as we are able. I know that we have drawn some discontent and complaints about how we have handled things during this awful time, but I make no excuses for putting the health and lives of our staff ahead of continued production, and I know that most of you reading this will endorse that view. On a more positive note, the vaccination programme is underway and all of our staff will be taking up that option. We will, at some stage this year, return to full scale production. This cannot come soon enough for me, but it cannot be rushed. I have plans. I am dangerous when I have plans... |
Indeed, this is bad news! :-( What is important is taking care of yourself and your families! They have, without a doubt, neither had people in their family affected by Codiv, nor were sick themselves ... otherwise, they would not have such reactions! They are only indecent and selfish! Peter, take care of your family, your team and yourself, of course! Standard User Posts: 9 jssecker@hotmail.com 12th Jan 2021 12:47:03 Peter, Entirely understandable and the right thing to do. What is less understandable is the way that some people are putting minor inconveniences to themselves ahead of - literally - thousands of deaths. Ignore the selfish ones, and keep on doing the right thing. Do I really need to get my models a bit sooner if it means that someone somewhere is mourning a loved one? John John Secker |
Important announcement - please read! Colin the Wargamer 12th Jan 2021 02:12:02 Dear Peter, So sorry to hear this, but understandable given the increasingly infectious nature of life in the UK at present. I second all the comments above. Let us know when the cart will re-open and the order limit. In the meantime, stay safe and carry on casting! Cheers! C |
