IMMORTALS
The elite of the Persian Army, some 10,000 strong and consisting only
of Persians and Medes. They were armed with spear, bow and short sword
and wore armour underneath their clothes. They fought in a Sparabara formation
with a front rank consisting of pavise bearers providing cover for the
rear ranks to use their bows to good effect.
I chose to depict the 8Bow allowed in the DBA list as Immortal as it makes for a striking and impressive core to the army. This formation really shows the advantages of using 25mmGS units as you can show just how the sparabara formation operated.
The figures are on a DBA element base, housing 48 figures at cost of
£2.40 per element.
