Does anyone know what color, if any, Imperial artillery carriages and limbers were painted?  Thanks.

No idea, but Austrian ones later in the century were yellow ochre.

I am not a betting man. But in this period I would be quite on the safe side if I assumed varnished wood... the tonality of the varnish is up to you... I don't think there was any uniformity in colour farther than that.

Yellow wood with black metal fittings.  It makes a brave show!

Yellow and black sounds good to me.  That's a lot!

Question When you say "Yellow" metal do you really mean a brass or bronze color?

Hello, when you say "yellow" do you actually mean yellow or brass colored? Aren't all cannon barrels brass colored? Please advise.

gsayhi - the 'yellow' for the woodwork is actually yellow, a colour often called 'Ochre Yellow'.

Where the 'Yellow;is for metal it means the metal is brass/bronze coloured. Many of the gun barrrels, but not all, which are 'Black' are actually also brass/bronze but they are painted black.
