At first glance, I thought it was a strangely shaped shield, but the figures arm seems to be in the wrong position. I'm also thinking it might represent the outline of a bow. Is there anyone who has painted these figures that can tell me for sure? |

I painted a bunch of those recently. I don't recall anything actually in their left hands, but on that side of the horse they have their gorytos - a combined bow case and quiver. It does look a bit like an oddly shaped and placed shield, but actually very handy for quick access to their bows. Altera Restat |
