Cheers |
Bavarians are difficult to get right. I am currently using on my larger figures a colour called Periwinkle which I then wash with Army Painter blue tone then highlight with the Periwinkle again. However, to make my 6mm Bavarians stand out I use the Vallejo Bright Sky Blue. A little goes a long way |
Standard User Posts: 144 6mmwargaming 9th May 2018 07:33:12 I think I used Sky blue on these. Making them look good on the table is more important than have the exact shade IMHO:-) Next is a single unit of Prussian Hussars. Nice bright uniforms and these denote the 1st regiment

And very good they look too. A little goes a long way |

Standard User Posts: 144 6mmwargaming 28th Oct 2018 12:43:04 I cant believe its been 5 months since the last update :- ( But I have painted more figures and here is another 4 units of Bavarian infantry finished. I'm working my way through an entire corp of Bavarians for the 1870 rules and have almost finished the rest.
New regiments Yellow facings (4th or 8th regiment) Black facings (2nd or 11th regiment) Rose Red facings (5th or 7th regiment) Dark Green facings (13th or 14th regiment)
Thanks

I see you have mentioned the 1870 rules by Bruce Weigle. Have you seen his 1871 rules. There are a similar number of new scenarios plus these are an update and streamlining of the 1870 rules to produce a smoother flowing and quicker game, reducing the number of calculations which need to be made. All the 1870 scenarios are compatible, as are the basing and organisation of the figures. The QRS is now a single back to back sheet, thus making table top management a lot easier. Your Bavarians are coming along beautifully. Have you gone for the 30mm x 20mm basing style? I adopted this and it looks particularly good. A little goes a long way |
