The large battle project gradually ticks along. The story so far:

For small battles I'm going to use a modified version of Peter Pig's 'Battles in the Age of War.' Hopefully will get around to trying a game soon.

For large battles I'm using a tabletop conversion of the board game 'Tenkatoitsu.'  More info here: https://tenkafubu608971038.wordpress.com/2018/01/10/tenkatoitsu-the-holy-grail-of-sengoku-jidai-battle-rules/

These are really lovely!  I see you changed the basing from the first photos to the completed armies; have you now based each stand as a complete “contingent” with mixed arms and troop types?

Very nice job!

Thanks. I'm doing both basing versions. The large bases with 'combined arms' for big battles where each base represents 1-2,000 men and the small bases for smaller battles where units are grouped by weapon type, and each base represents 40 men or less.
