Hi all I will start my 1866 project building an Austrian and Prussian corps so I can fight the various frontier battles. In spring I will add the Austrian light cavalry division and the saxons so I can do the battles with the Elbe army. This means some issues. There are no dismounted Austrian hussars nor any saxons at all What do you suggest I use instead? I have some ideas but would welcome yours. In a year I will also need Italians and there are no formed light troops again what would you use? I intend to base the units to show how they appeared on the battle field so for example a Prussian line battalion will have 12 line deployed as a line and 4 skirmishers to the front. The Austrians would have 15 line deployed as a five wide by 3 deep column of divisions. Any thoughts welcome. Mike

For Saxons (if that means all types of them): have you looked at Prussian Landwehr from the Napoleonic age? |

Thanks I thought of the landwher the Reiters I was looking at something else but that is a good thought. Dismounted hussars I was thinking British napoleonic rifles with splodges of paint might do as I am not a great painter Will look for artillery with caps Thanks for the idea
