Hello chaps. Do these seem like good options for subs for the Saxon Cavalry (post 1810)? If anyone has had a bash at the Saxons, what did you use? All help greatly appreciated as my OCD is kicking in a bit! ( I know I could use Adler but I am trying to keep a uniform look to this project).

Garde du Corp - British Lifeguards

Kurassier - French Carabinier

Chevauxleger - British Light Dragoons or DB Light Dragoons

Husaren/Uhlans - French or Austrian Hussars/Lancers

My Saxons are based on the 1813 campaign.

For the Currasier's and Guard du Corps I used Carabiniers ( I had the figures spare and I don't get too OCD about it). The Hussars are French. For the Uhlans I plan to use Prussians (as Saxon Uhlans have Shakos and not Czapka's).

OK, we'll give this a spin.

Zastrow's Curassiers and Guard-du-Corps.

I used the Caribiners as the helmets had a large crest (I planned this as I only needed 18 figures for the Carabiners).

The Hussars are just French. The Uhlans will go on the front of the base when I buy them .The Prussians are a wee while away on the to-do list (behind the Austrians at least, and maybe the Russians as well) and I'm not buying a pack for just 9 figures.

Many thanks Rbatch. Looks like Carabiners it is then for the Kurassier.

Cracking figures too, and good to see someone else going down the fine flock route for basing too!

Just as an update I've just this week painted the Saxon Uhlans for my 1813 "French and friends" army. The red uniforms do look pretty.

Dear All  I also plan to do Saxon Hvy Cav and will use Russian NRU07 Cuirassier, as they have very fine plumes.  I may also use these for French Carabinier.  Any saddle cloth issues will be fixed by a bit of kit bashing.  I'll let you know how this goes....  Colin the Wargamer
