Peter Riley, Polemos writer, has put a free Wargame Collection Calculator online, It's a tool to valuate your collection.

For testing purposes, I entered the details of an 18 fig 6mm-painted&based Polish lancer unit. This was the result.

18 French Napoleonic Polish Lancers, Horse and Musket (1700AD to 1850AD) Metal 6mm Mounted Complete basic cost per figure Â£0.15: basic cost per painted figure Â£ 1.20 based +20% =Â£1.38 total value Â£24.84.

Just curious, would that be a realistic outcome? Do gamers really pay 25 GBP for 18 6mm painted Polish Lancers?

A quick look on ebay revealed 96 painted Napoelonic infanty for Â£18 and 45 cavalry for Â£22

I don't think the value is calculated to necessarily reflect resale value. But rather for replacement costs for insurance purposes. The valuation seems correct for that purpose. As for resale value. There are more variables involved. Painting & basing standard are two & resale value is as always what someone is willing to pay.
